As a psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working with clients struggling with relationship issues, codependency, substance abuse, depression, life transition and grief. Life can seem overwhelming. Sometimes talking with friends or family isn’t enough or doesn't help. My approach focuses on reflecting the needs, goals, and personal situation of the individual. Together we will work on identifying patterns in your life that may be keeping you stuck and feeling unhappy, out of control, unfulfilled or hopeless. These patterns may be ones of thought, communication style or behavior. Once we identify them, we will work on creating new patterns that will move you toward achieving your goals.
I’m passionate about helping individuals, couples and families gain focus and insight toward making healthy decisions/changes in their lives and feeling confident through the growing pains and ultimately rewards of therapy.
One of my specialties is assisting women to gain healthy control of their lives, develop solid decision-making skills, set clear priorities and take care of themselves the way they take care of everyone else.
Previous clients have said what they appreciated most was my ability to be direct, honest and compassionate without judgment. Talking with someone who can listen objectively, relate empathically and offer problem analysis and formulation of change strategies to prevent future recurrences can be freeing. I enjoy working with and relating to a wide variety of people of different ages, backgrounds and stages of change.
I believe in providing a safe, compassionate and supportive environment where clients can explore their feelings, fears, and concerns and be empowered to move in new directions. In developing a strong and genuine therapeutic relationship, therapy can be a life-changing experience and it would be a privilege to be a part of your journey.
